Moon Star is a trade mark of
Nisshin Steel .
These images (a selection from a series of over 100) are of rusting and deteriorating steel panels found in Hokkaido, Japan and reminded me of
some modern art, particularly work by Richter (Cage series), Pollock and Rothko - the objects themselves are
"modern art painted by nature". Not only are these objects beautiful but the subject matter raises the question
"if art is made by random actions, is it art?". Or does it become art when I take the photograph? Or is it the question that is art?
Recommended music: "Disintegration Loops" by William Basinski; Music for prepared piano, and "Etudes Borealis" by John Cage
A further series of new images and manipulated temperaprints will be released during the April-June exhibition at the Nisshin Steel Gallery.
